Tufted Carpet Backing
For technical evaluation in backing compounds used to anchor yarn and support tufted carpet constructions.
Carpet Industry Chemicals
A hard-grade latex binder offered for carpet-backing systems where adhesion, structural support and a firmer finished character must be evaluated together.
Product Overview
Latex HZ-2830S Hard is offered for evaluation in carpet-backing applications that require a firmer or more structured finished construction. Carpet latex is normally used as the polymer binder within a formulated backing compound.
Depending on the carpet system, the compound can help anchor the tufts, bond backing layers and support the stability of the finished floor covering. The final result depends on the full formulation, filler loading, coating weight, backing substrate and drying conditions.
“Hard” is a commercial grade description rather than a complete chemical specification. Polymer chemistry, physical properties and acceptance limits must be confirmed against the current supplier TDS and the COA for the supplied batch.
Application Areas
Suitability depends on the exact grade, carpet structure, compound formulation and production conditions.
For technical evaluation in backing compounds used to anchor yarn and support tufted carpet constructions.
Can be assessed in direct back-coating systems where a firm finished backing is required.
Suitable for grade trials in needle-felt backing and impregnation systems requiring added structure.
May be combined with approved fillers, thickeners and process additives after compatibility testing.
Before You Order
A hard backing grade should be selected against the actual carpet construction, coating method and required finished properties. Grade identity alone does not determine production performance.
Share your current specification, compound recipe or approved sample data where possible. This gives the team a clear basis for reviewing the available material.
Discuss Your RequirementConfirm polymer chemistry, Tg or hardness indicator and the expected dry-film behaviour.
Review solids content, viscosity, pH, stability and compatibility with the intended compound.
Evaluate tuft bind, adhesion, delamination resistance, dimensional stability and finished handle.
Confirm TDS, SDS, batch COA, packaging, required quantity and destination.
Storage & Handling
The handling requirements for Latex HZ-2830S Hard depend on its exact polymer composition, preservatives and additives. Personnel should work from the current supplier SDS.

Product Questions
Grade documentation and application testing should be reviewed before commercial approval.
It is offered as a hard-grade binder for carpet-backing applications where a firmer finished construction is required.
The grade name alone does not confirm its polymer chemistry. Check the current supplier TDS before describing or approving it as SBR, XSBR, acrylic or another latex type.
A hard grade is generally considered where a firmer backing character is needed. The measurable difference must be established through the grade specification, dry-film data and carpet trials.
Not without evaluation. Polymer type, solids, viscosity, pH, filler compatibility, drying behaviour and adhesion can differ between grades.
